Save $ and stand in front of the sun (dawn and dusk, never mid-day) shorts and t-shirts. Give it 15 to 20 minutes. Oh, BTW take socks and shoes off and earth/ground. For those on Methylene Blue, after 15 minutes of ingestion get in the sun for 15 to 20min to PBM. I own a Red Light NIR device but would rather get out in nature and the sun.

Nothing wrong with that except - understand the difference - full-spectrum sunlight does include ultra-violet which can be harmful in excess - NIR red-light panels focus on the healthful and non-harmful frequencies.

You are not smarter than your own body, it decides what's needed and how to manage it all by itself.

🤨😐🤦‍♀️ a very large portion of the photobiomodulation crew are wielding red light therapy as a catch all cure all, with zero understanding of the long term effects of using LED devices stripped of full spectrum. Pretty much exactly like the probiotics crew sell microbiome manipulation therapies without understanding the full effects long term, and they got their playbook from the antibiotics crew before them!!🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️👏

People want to use red light for mitochondrial biogenisis. Make more mitochondria.

Is that a good idea if your ability to clear the shitty mitochondria that you have originally, is impaired? Do you really want to make MORE shitty mitochondria?! ESPECIALLY when you have no clue as to what caused your original shitty mitochondria in the first place!🤨😐🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Sitting inside using a red light LED lamp is like eating Macdonalds in France, and talking about how good "French food" is.🤔🤦‍♀️

That's not even talking about the chronobiology signals your sending/receiving.

Red light lamps may get you so far, but don't kid yourself that they equal to being outside or give you the same effects. Especially when there is zero studies on the long-term, because the people paying for the studies are not interested in the long term results.😐

Red light therapy can have extraordinary results, in some disease states, for some people. When people start abusing it like aspirin or ibuprofen, and it's touted as good for everyone- well that's when they are selling something called BS.😉

Prices range from US$14.50 up

Work fine for muscle strains and the like - I would be inclined to buy cheaper rather than most expensive, after all, it is the heat, not the price which matters to help cure you.

There are different ones available on Amazon

We bought one on Amazon but from this article I think ours is in the lower range (skin health) and we need a stronger one for joints (knees) so I’ll be looking into that.

Would red light work on a seven month old with ags?

richard noakes's avatar

It is really easy to get a BURN, so I would be inclined to try it out, but put your hand near the spot being treated, so when you feel it is starting to hurt your hand, it is time to move the heat lamp away, or to a new skin location. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. The less you pay, the easier it is to discard it, if it does not work as you hoped.

Careful with use in children, especially those under the age of 2. Palm of adult hand is not the same as trunk skin of an infant or toddler. Remember children are not just little adults as our pediatrician will teach us.
