Perhaps one of the most important flaws in the food pyramid is the total emphasis on "eating" with no reference to fasting. All tribes living in nature recognize the value of "not eating" at certain times and for certain problems, but our medical systems insist that all cures must come from consumption - and even recommend consuming specific things to cure "obesity." Duh.

Disappointing. Nowhere is healthy animal fat consumption recommended. Instead the standard boilerplate "healthy fats" continues to steer us to unhealthy food choices due to lack of energy sources. Also, there is no need for fiber of any type. That is a canard that needs a quick burial.

Um, in this webinar we do talk about healthy animal fats. Not everyone on the panel agrees, but it was discussed. We had to be very selective of what we discussed as the material would have consumed 5 hours. I would have to disagree with your assessment of Fiber; it is necessary for colon health and good BMs. None of these things are mutually exclusive, you can have higher protein and fats from animal products and also a diet rich in fiber.

I'm getting more and more convinced that processed food, especially grains, sugar and seed oils, are creating a tsunami of illnesses such as thyroid, cancer, arthritis, infertility, asthma, dementia, etc which are overwhelming national health systems.

Until the state health services collapse this will continue. The food companies create business for the pharmaceutical companies who then crate more work for themselves and it all goes to a few billionaires who seem to lead suspiciously long lives. It is almost like they don't consume their own products🤷‍♂️.

When government led health services collapse then health will improve as people finally take charge of their own health.

The guidelines should use pounds (lbs) and not kilograms (kegs) in USA. No one knows their weight in kgs or takes the effort to calculate it

Yes I agree, but it's not that simple anymore. Soy and Flax seed is now in majority of chicken amd livestock feed. This bioidentical estrogen is passed down to the consumer through meat, dairy, and eggs. This is why grassfed/finished meats and chickens on strict free-range/ food scrap diets are so important, but people who dont understand the research will never make the appropriate changes.

Careful what you eat and information that is very superficial. Things can get complicated and run deep. Eat Smart

Unfortunately, not everyone can afford to eat that way. Even agri-meat is a step in the right direction if we can get people to give up the corn, rice, pasta, flour, sugar, seed oils, etc.

For sure. We happened to luck out with local farmer we can communicate with about our concerns. We gotta try to make this a standard though. Grow your own staples and find a local farmer.
