Thank you — almost exactly one-year ago I was in a coma from Septic Shock and Necrotizing Fasciitis. Despite the odds being against me, I survived with my organs and limbs intact. Since then, I have eaten as you suggest, three meals every day which I cook so I know what's in them. My only addition to your guidelines is in the fats section. I eat the fats you list and also animal fats. I buy Heritage pork because I find the fat marbling in it aids the protein. I use duck fat, ghee, lard, butter to cook. I am, btw, a huge fan of Dr. Marik for, among other wonderful things he's done, the research he was doing into Sepsis treatment. He is one of my heroes. I was lucky to have a great hospital, surgeon, staff and PT at Santa Barbara Cottage. Too many people who get Sepsis are not. I'm writing a Substack as a non-medical survivor to hopefully raise awareness. https://pollysnewsletter.substack.com/p/my-tough-good-luck-year

thank you Polly for sharing this incredible story of recovery. We couldn't be more glad to hear it. Taking a look at your Substack and very glad to see you are spreading the word about this illness. It seems that the public is virtually in the dark and the potential for sepsis to strike is higher than most think. We are blessed by your help in spreading the word!

Well done.

We shouldn’t overlook adequate and safe exposure to sunlight.

Thank you for this helpful panel discussion. There were important points mentioned, one of which was to not beat yourself up if you fail to do all the things you want to do all the time for healthful living. Good advice!
