Good lord. This is how competent "public health officials" can be: the RA of one of my schools' student housing, a public health grad student, kept a broken spring horse toy outside his door. It was therefore on the common plaza-walkway without any fencing or other barriers between it and any passing children.
The nature of its brokenness was twofold: rusted, stiff, but stretched springs that produced unpredictable action requiring lots of energy to get started, and a missing plastic handle that should have slipped over a thin metal rod which stuck up from the horse's head, pointing directly at where a child's eyes would be if the child got out over the head of the horse.
I notified him that it was a hazard. He sneered and did nothing.
It's on the right, too, or rather certain ideas beloved of the right facilitate the development of profit-seeking entities which create through pressure the specific social rules enforced by the left: an absence of effective regulations allows profit seeking and institutional development, along lines of ever more effective exploitation, to happen without any limits set.
The math for why this happens is embedded in the equations studied by MBAs, accountants, etc. for the purposes of maximizing profits by shifting the risks of acknowledging costs such as R&D failure, adequate testing not just of product but of concept, and etc., to the public. Ulrich Beck discussed the incipient societal shift in his 80s book, 'Risk Society'. The shifting of these burdens to the public's shoulders allowed the corporations and governments room to develop into economic structures described as "global value chains" in which governance happens from influential corporations to less influential corporations and to governments and regulatory bodies.
Tl;dr: the idea that supply and demand produces sufficient oversight is no longer true.
These two things are not in conflict with each other. However, morality aside, the specifics of the economic governance--oligarchical takeover--which has imposed itself on us couldn't and wouldn't have happened as it did, without the mechanisms I'm mentioning. Without the specific economic and social (regulatory) method, any attempts at mere domination would have taken some other form.
Theocracy, for example, is a form of domination that has a very different structure to corporate control.
There never, ever, ever should be mandates to put any treatment or medical intervention in or on one’s body. Just because “someone” believes “something” might work is not justification for forced medical intervention on anyone.
With the continuous revelation of just how willingly delusional, cult like, & authoritarian the Universities, med schools, medical organizations like AHA, AAP etc are, why in medicine are we still so hung up on boards, certifications, & acronyms after your name. Since the vast majority of doctors, medical providers, nurses are all board this or that, certified this or that, you'd think that would indicate they'd have been more critical of all the COVID information, vaccines, statins, and all the other studies etc but they weren't, they bought in immediately, embraced & were willingly complicit with establishment big medicine. Pushed fatal hospital protocols, ruined careers & lives. Why are we still cow towing to these organizations that promoted all these false hoods, that pushed lgbtq-trans pronouns testing or your fired or you won't pass your cert exam unless you answer the trans lgbtq vaccine question they way we tell you. You have to do it even today or you won't get certification.
They need to exempt students in medical programs from this nonsense. The hospital employees no longer have to take Covid shots and now no flu shots, but these poor students are coerced into taking these poisons because completing clinical rotations/internships/residencies are necessary to graduate and sit for boards. Ridiculous!
Now they need to remove the funding tied to all other vaccines for healthcare workers. Especially the flu vaccine, which is absolute garbage. I shouldn't have to exempt out or wear a mask when I am not ill.
The only flu vaccines that I had was the last 3 years of my nursing career….. because they were mandated. I worked in an ER for 40 years and NEVER caught the flu! I washed my hands with good ole soap and water!!!

What about flu vaccines? My employer still forces a flu vaccine to be eligible for a raise each year.
